I agree, I think that's the one I'll try for. That textured acrylic seems really cool.
Who else likes it?
This may be the best use of the serpentine shield so far. It fits the shape of the pattern very well.
You could always askI like the look of that Micarta (would look nice on a #71 or other F&F), the shield looks good and I like the overall Tidioute aesthetic of that one in particular, but I’ve just never been big on the long California clip blade profile. Still probably a pass for me… maybe.![]()
It's a sleek looker, and that Micarta looks fine, but not on my watch
You could always askmrknife for his opinion about a blade-delete...
I might have to opt for deleting both

I got in on the CK reserve but was pretty late. I really hope there’s a yellow bone left when I get the notification. I’ll buy regardless because I reserved but that’s really the only one I care about.
I’ve never used a folder to clean game before. How does one go about thoroughly cleaning a folder knowing it can’t be taken apart to get all the nooks along with reapplying a corrosion inhibitor? This one is a little different with two muskrat blades. It is very much a purpose-built knife with skinning in mind. When one blade gets dull…switch to the other.

Do you just kind of go crazy with the mineral oil to make sure it permeates every little nook and cranny?I've used the same method that I use when flushing out a fresh-from-factory knife. Wash in hot, soapy water, working the action, blast with some compressed air and then treat with mineral oil. I also would advise cleaning shortly after processing the animal, it's a lot easier to do before the blood and fat gets caked on there.

Awesome, thanks so much for the walkthrough on it. I’ve always hesitated because of concern that I couldn’t adequately clean a folder, but you’ve helped alleviate that.In my experience, mineral oil does a pretty good job of penetrating the joints on its own so I don't feel the need to go too crazy. I will usually apply with a q-tip, work the blade(s) back and forth to make sure it gets in there (you'll start seeing it bead on the back spring) and then I wipe away the excess.
