A friend of mine Will Bowden is a tri athlete and officer in the Coast Guard he was killing time at a free medical screening when he was told "slowly and calmly go see your MD NOW" He was at the stroke at any minute stage. As both a fund raiser for the American Heart Association and a FU to death he just finished the 222 mile John Muir Trail in 8 days no resupply no support. All he had was what he carried out on the first day, and yes when he could only take one knife, he took a Dogwood. I want to congratulate Will on his accomplishment and remind my Dogwood family that no matter how good a shape you are in, see an MD every now and then, because we all feel great until we are dying.
if you want to see photos and info from the hike these are his facebook pages
