That’s a stout duo
I've had esse knives in the past and find them to be a great user but I tend not to keep fixed blades, I sell one to buy one to keep my knife numbers under control due to my large sak collection. But this ESEE is a keeper due to it being a gift from my wife. As with most knives in Australia there prices are crazy too. I have an S35VN 3 on the way for skinning purposes I can't wait. I find the coating on 1095 blades holds blood and can be a bit unhygienic seeing we eat alot of game I thought the uncoated S35VN might be better.

All great knives posted today my friends. ( paulhilborn paulhilborn , sonofwilfred sonofwilfred )

Paul, it was like I had the Buck Custom Shop build a knife just for me when in 2018 the Forum placed their order. Yeah, it suits me that well. My GEC Bull Nose is from 2017 and is linen micarta... but I like yours almost as much. ;). They're really useful knives!

Dan, love your blackened Vic Soldier, glad you got one. Looks like you getting some good use out of it too .

I did not know about the less then healthy coatings on Esee. I bought my Izula 2 for the ease of sharpening (1095). I'll have to refrain from using it to process game. No problem though, cleaning game doesn't happen all that often for me anymore and I have others I could use. I learn something new here almost daily! Thanks for sharing!

Have a great week guys!:thumbsup:

James, my Bull Nose is Linen Micarta as well, I just never remember between paper, linen, burlap Micarta, so I just list as Micarta:D

Yes my US soldier is a great knife.
I give my knife a quick wash in water after each use when out hunting and I found if I gave it a wipe with a rag before the next use it would have quite a bit of blood in the coating still and I figured that having blood on a knife even that small amount on a hot day wouldn't be desirable.
I hope all is well mate have a safe new year.

Paul, cool combo :thumbsup: paulhilborn paulhilborn

Evogrip 11/Elk 301 (a lot like yesterday but different) :p

Nice as well James, I'll be honest, when I rec'd my Evogrip 14, I was kind of put off with it. I think just because it was "different". Over time it grew on me and I actually quite like it, enough so that I'm going to pick up an 11. So far you've inspired me to carry both the forum knife and the Evogrip:D

Yeah... then we are getting closer to being even regarding inspiration. Your pics have inspired me many times, most recently to carry my Bull Nose. I had forgotten just how much I like it, thanks.
It was the same for me when first getting an Evogrip 14, took me awhile to warm up to it's chunkyness. Now that I've grown more use to it, I went an ordered an 18 figuring, "Might as well have it all, plus it's yellow!" :), should be here this week. Still, I think the two layer eleven will remain my favorite of the Evo series.:thumbsup: Hope you enjoy yours.
