Twenty six years ago today, my best friend found himself in a nightmare. It changed his, and so many other lives, forever.

He was a hero that day and remains my hero today. He continues to serve his country and used that day to talk to and train hundreds of law enforcement personnel since.

I always send him a message on this day. He doesn't like to think about it but I want him to know that I'm thinking about him. :)

A sad event with the shootings at the medical center and the B-52 going down was probably unnecessary. For those that don't remember or want to read the link, Andy Brown was the base security guy who took down the crazed shooter.

Allowing the so called "Assault weapon ban" to expire in 2004 was the right choice. I won't comment further as that subject is very political.

I can’t believe it was that long ago.
Shows how old I’ve become.

Thank you for posting.

Heroes and fallen comrades should never be forgotten.
