Thanks for the kind words, guys!

The regular nessmuks are 9" OAL (if I remember correctly), while the large one is around 14" or so...I'll measure them when I get out to the shop tomorrow.

The black is my "forged finish" and does not come off...ever. :D You have to grind it off. I leave it on there sometimes to distinguish it clearly as a handmade blade. I can do a satin finish (as shown on the top nessie)...just a little extra $$.

Forge finish?

I don't expect you to tell us how you do it, but could we have a closer look on it?

I'll take another pic later...basically I just leave the scale on that comes from the mill...and don't clean up the flats at all after heat-treat (more scale). It's not a coating.

But...that said...I will be bringing some coated blades to the Blade Show....I'll be sure to post pics!

Very nice, Dan.

That large one would make a dandy camp knife.

How are the thong holes on the top two done? Can't quite tell.

there are mosaic pins - like this:

MP375B-222-s.jpg

They are 3/8" in diameter and have a thong hole in the center.

Base price is $145.

Options:

Curly Maple adds $20
Curly Koa adds $30
Ironwood adds $40
Mosaic pin adds $10
Liners adds $10

Kydex sheath adds $30
Leather sheath adds $35 (not available just yet...but soon!)

I have one similar to the large one above, also by Dan.

It is an awesome knife, and would be a perfect camp knife, but it would also do good duty in the kitchen.

I am also lusting after one like the top one!
