426 date codes

...Trax...wasn't there someone else in the current forum group that was changing out blades and scales besides you and me???...He may have a few blades or handles layin' around but I can't recall the name...

...That was it...He was grindin' 'em thinner...And he was sanding down the grinds to a flat grind on the blades...can't recall the name...
 
...Yep...I remember that one...I have one of your pics from before ya set the rivets where it was held together with set screws...actually on a second look they look more like pins than set screws...

They're ground down needles from a needle scaler...if you've ever used one to knock off old paint or rust...just the right size...I have a bunch of them left over from my millwright days... ;)
 
...hmmm...I think my son-in-law may still have an old Ingersoll-Rand needle scaler that I gave him when he was doing a lotta welding in Wisconsin...Gotta talk to that boy...LOL...

You can buy new needles...I think even Sears has them...
 
...Yeah I know...But I had about 5 or 6 packs of 7 needles each in the case and I know that lazy bum didn't use 'em...LOL...He hated that job..This might give me some excuse to grumble at him...Although he is a good kid...LOL...Gotta admit that I never thoughta usin' 'em like you did....:rolleyes:

Funny - my work pants were all frayed at the bottom...I wouldn't notice they were on fire, and my "buddies" wouldn't tell me... :eek: :mad: :D

I think that is a common thing of welders!
My "buddies" dont tell me either LOL
Thats O.K. at least they know why their weld lens is spray painted black in the morning :D
