5160 Steel

I am relatively new to all of this, I recently acquired a hand made knife that is made of 5160 steel and I am wondering if this steel is suiitable for kitchen duty. Is rusting a problem? Thanks in advance.

5160 high carbon steel is going to age with a healthy patina or rust if you dont take care of it :)
treat it as you would any good high carbon kitchen knife ;) :thumbup:
