I wonder about those, if they would fit the hand like an Asian parang if you gripped them way back. If not, there’s always sandpaper. You will recall I had the same question about your ax handle. Shows you how little I really understand about those handles.
Most machetes made by tool companies and sold as working tools don't come with edges because they're often hanging openly in hardware stores, it's only those made by or for knife companies who sell them to outdoor enthusiasts which come with edges and sheaths.I just got mine, and they have no edge whatsoever. One weird looking thing was as thick at the blade as the spine. Its a weird piece made from an end cut I think. I'll get a photo tonight or tomorrow. Never seen anything like it.
