Well, not exactly what I had in mind, but I got this done "in time for christmas"
. It's an 8" blade, 13" overall, 0.005" at the edge, 2" tall at the heel. Heat treated by Peters to to 61 HRC, sharpened 20 degrees inclusive up to strop with green oxide. The handle is stabilized black ash burl and dark maple burl, with G10 spacers, two corbys, and mosaic pin. The saya is curly maple. $450 Shipped, first "I'll take it" has dibs.
