Here's a pretty cool custom we made recently that's certainly outside of our usual output.
The customer was looking for a fixed blade version of a folder he loved but was also looking to bulk it up at the same time- something that could hack with a bit of power as well as make fast cuts.
For the handle we went for something that had a fair amount of contouring and retention to match the heft of the blade but that still had the capability for reverse grip, sabre grip etc if desired. That disctated the overall style of the blade and the resultant knife looks pretty wicked but also looks like it could be a traditional utility knife somewhere in the middle east or india. An interesting vibe overall.
Final blade was specced with a raw finish, toothy rough finished black micarta handle with decorative copper pins and one extremely scary tip.
7" blade, 5.25" handle, 5mm spine with a 428g overall weight.
If we were to make another what do you think could be done to improve it?
a back edge? Lower overall weight for more speed?
Let us know!
Take care,
Andrew and the team at Kailash.
