WildGoo 15......10 1/4" Bowie blade by Tai. The grip is amber Sambar stag with a copper ferrule and typical period brass guard.........

Chuck, for an old fart you still do some nice leather work. Great looking package! I'd sure love to find some crowns with the shape of the one on this knife.
 
I didn't think brass was at all "typical" material for bowie guards of the period.
On American made Bowies it was the most widely used material, despite what some would have you think. Sheffields used mostly German aka nickle silver but did use brass as the second choice.........

Ray - can't remember if that stag is a piece from Gib's stock or if I got it from Dixie Gunworks (of all places)...
 
Chuck, you know I've always a big fan of the photo's of your work. I keep thinking if you put a bunch of your photo's together and made a calender if there would be enough money in it to make it worth your while. Just an idea.
