This is a little device I made to make symetric and/or parallel fullers on blades.

I was making a custom ordered blade and I messed up, so I built this in 20 mins with ordinary pieces. Probably there's already something similar in the US market, but maybe this low tech solution can help someone, so I took some pictures :)

For this blade, I used a 3mm cutting disk on a bench grinder.

In this particular case, I didn't care for scratches as I'd still had to mirror polish the blade, but you can use a piece of clothing or rubber between the blade and the screws to avoid them.

Hey that's really cool Ariel, thanks for sharing! I've often wondered how to go about doing this and have heard a couple of methods. But I like yours the best so far - because I'm lazy and this looks like a nice easy way to do something hard! :D Can't wait to see the finished piece (that's a subtle hint ;) ).

Thank you :)

I can't show the finished piece as this customer just ordered the blade.

He makes the handles himself following an Irish pattern/design. Really nice and quality work.

Regards,

Ariel
