One of the guys I work with wanted a knife made to give to a couple he was very good friends with.
We decided to go with aeb-L for the steel, walnut for the handle, and a wooden saya.
I also talked him into etching a plate to put on the saya rather than putting a large stencil on the blade.
He wanted them to have a larger ”scimitar“
style blade.
I finished the aeb-L to a 600 grit hand rubbed finish. Here’s what I came up with.
Any comments or criticism are welcome,
I ended up making two blades because the first one went to snap city trying to get a warp out, and 5 or 6 different attempts at the stencil etch on the plate.

a little biased maybe, but your maker's mark looks really good on this knife. Just the right size
the handle contouring looks great and your knife has great flow:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Dudley and Lorien! You’re right Lorien, it looks really good on kitchen knives, I love it.

Thanks guys, I tried to talk him into keeping it for himself and gifting something else, but he wouldn’t. He’s a very selfless person.
