A year of collection tracking

Any favorites? Keepers? And what are your thoughts on that Bradford Guardian 3.5?

^ I just picked up the dogtooth on massdrop .It hasn't even come in yet but I stumbled on the massdrop guardian 3.5 series in nitro-v I'm like resisting the temptation but it just seems like a really great piece of kit!

Oh too many favorites, that's my problem! The Bradford G3.5 is definitely a keeper. Easily one of my favorite fixed blades.

Always enjoy your posts...now it's your thread. Nice! I'm definitely on the down-swing side of things, but still having fun. I've had nice collections of CRK, PM2's and Millies, SurviveKnives, Striders, Bradford 3G's, a few one-off custom folders built to my specs, along with some "pretty" custom fixed (useless to me) and dumped most of all that in last several yrs, and now have very few samples left of anything.
Been going into cross-draw fixed blades...inspired by my 8 or 9 Bradford 3G's...now down to one in Vanadis 4E. Had some Fiddleback fixed, five Busse 3" samplers, two CPK EDC's, and now one WA Surls Bobcat 3" on the way here, along with other "singlets" that come and go.
I still carry a clipped folder, Spydie Slysz Bowie (my all-time favorite along with lge Sebbie) and most recently the MassDrop Keen Laconico...which is an amazing knife.
I have found that I seldom use the clipped knife since I "discovered" the Bradford over two yrs ago. It is so quick and easy to draw a cross-draw small fixed blade of 7" OAL that I've pretty well exhausted my primary love-fest for folders.
Carrying my one remaining Busse, the 3" Whiskey Warden for several months now, but the WA Surls might force a change. STILL CHASING THAT ELUSIVE GRAIL...

Bradfords were a game changer for me too. I can't carry them everyday with my current job (or at least, I think it's wiser not to, i suppose I could...). But on weekends and any other non-working days, they are perfect blades for almost everything. I still need to snag one in V4E at some point. If I can settle on the right configuration for the next one.

Killing me. I might try to trade the Sprint Pm2 that I picked up for a portal keen laconico.

The guardian 3.5 is what I feel like the Izulu should have been. I just couldn't get on with the Izulu's crappy handle.

Yes, when I get around to posting my next collection pic update you may notice that the Izula isn't there any longer. The G3.5 definitely made it redundant.

Halden,I thought you had a zt 0220 early on; what made you buy it again? I have one, great knife seems like a sleeper in the knife world ...

I'm on the downsizing side... still have "too many $&$#% knives" according to my wife... But I have turned from collector to de-collector
over the last year... Great ride anyway... (Collecting that is)...

I wanted to give it another try when it got discontinued and went on sale. Great knife for sure. Didn’t get the love it deserves.

I got mine for a steal on the exchange for 120,and put 20 or so into a blue backspacer .definitely a knife that should get more recognition.

My current rotation. Hopefully i still have them all next year.

Top row: Microtech Ultratech, Protech Magic 1 (Tuxedo version), Protech TR3, and Protech Integrity.

Skaha

Middle Row: Exclusive Red and 20CV Manix 2, We Drakon, We Arrakis, We Double Helix.

I'm in to see how things change by this time next year. Already have 2 other preorders that should be shipped by end of month. Also know I will get Hinderer HT at some point. No fixed blade yet as I cannot find one I will actually carry. Fingers crossed something catches my eye. Also want to try my first auto as well. There goes my budget. : )

Great collection! If you ever decide to move that large CF Insingo, let me know! ;)

halden.doerge halden.doerge Is that leather pen/knife caddy in your photos from Hitch and Timber? I've been eyeing something similar from them, but I'm not sure how well it would work as a front pocket carry.

It should work pretty well for you. I carry a Hitch and Timber wallet, and have for many months now, in my front pocket. The one that carries a pen and notebook though.

Thanks, Doc, appreciate the feedback. I've been carrying a $15 Amazon special leather card caddy/money clip and I like it, so I want to get something "nicer". Of course if I get one of those I have to get a SAK and a pen to go with it. :D

Yes, the one I have currently is the Card Caddy, which has been fantastic for me. I am thinking of getting the Engineer Caddy, which I think is the one DrRollinstein DrRollinstein is referring to above. It has room for a notebook and a full sized knife as well as the pen. I think that'd be a good one as well.
