Someone may have accused me of being a Becker fanboy, and I want to clear this up right now: I am.

I’m a Becker Backer to the bone.

I like Becker knives. I like Ethan's designs, and I like his philosophy; good, strong, well designed knives for hard work, at a price people can afford. Not cheap knives, mind you, but very, very good knives at an affordable price. Knives that he personally stands behind. There’s nothing pretentious about Becker knives. They’re not shiny toys that the wealthy keep in their safes as a status symbol, they’re just tough, outstanding, working knives that you can bet your life on

I like that KA-BAR is the company producing Becker knives. I can’t think of a company Ethan could have partnered with that would have been better than KA-BAR, period. Paul Tsujimoto (Toooj) of KA-BAR has demonstrated that he stands behind the product in the same way that Ethan does, and that’s pretty special. I can’t think of any other big knife companies that have ever impressed me as much as Toooj and KA-BAR have, and that takes some doing. Toooj has made me a KA-BAR fan for life.

I like the community here on the Becker forum, too. There are some really good people who visit this forum, and it’s those people — you people — who make this place special for me. We have a lot of fun on this forum, and we share a lot of good thoughts and information, too. Not only do we share among ourselves, but Ethan Becker himself pops in, and so does Toooj. It’s not every forum that has people like that as regular contributors.

I also have to mention Bladite — our esteemed moderator — too. Some of you may not even be aware of how important he is to this forum. I could point to the FAQ’s as just one example of what he’s done. Yep, he did those all by himself, which was a lot of work. Aside from that though, is his work as moderator: we’re lucky to have him, folks. We could have gotten someone who ran the forum with a rough hand, stifling anything other than dull, boring stuff... but we didn’t. Instead we got someone who has a good sense of humor, is flexible, and contributes to threads himself. Oh, and by the way, I don’t think anyone knows more about Becker knives than Bladite, period.

Add all that up, and it says something, at least to me. It says that Becker rocks.

Me, a Becker fanboy? Yep, and proud of it.

Ya know...
All true, and i echo every bit... echo every bit.
But, you been drinkin'? lol...

LOL. No, the odd thing is that I don't drink or do drugs, and I still come up with this stuff. I think the truth is, I'm just weird. More than thirty years in the advertising business will do that to you, or so I've heard.

Actually, I was just sitting here, and asked myself why I liked Becker knives and this forum so much, so I wrote a little bit. I do that from time to time; it's a flaw in my character, I know.

Preach on, Brother Bob! Real knives that working class people can afford (and afford to use). Becker isn't the only knife I use, but it is always near the top!!

And I will preach the Becker gospel, Brother Mikey, because, yea, verily, I say unto you, Beckers rock.

Yeah, I own knives besides Beckers, too. Beckers just have a special place for me.

Well said brother............don't need to tell you I am a Becker blade man ....sure would love to see some more "beckerblades in action pics on here though....but still a great place Thanks...

Hey, John, you don't have to tell me — I think that BK-7 is becoming an extension of your hand.:D

You're right; we do need more "action pics" around here. Are you listening, guys? Show us some pics of your Beckers in action. We do get some, of course, but more are always welcome.

Yeah, this really is a great place, and some good people hang out here. I'm always glad to see you here, because you are one of the truly good people on all of Blade forums, yourself.

its all good brother. I've been called a Becker, ESEE, and Spyderco fanboy by every kershaw and busse fanboy on the forum.

fanbois :)

I have to say I agree 100%. When my Becker's are not working, I keep them on my desk so I can hold and admire them. I don't care if you think that's weird :p I just really love them.

I love the confidence they inspire when you pick one up and use it.
I like how the designs have pretty much stayed the same over all those years.
I love the old school feeling I get when I pick one up.
I like the thought that someone back in 1985 was using the exact same knife that I'm holding now.
I like that they are simple hard working knives.
There's also something about the BK 9 that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I pick it up. I don't know what it is, I can't explain.

But most of all...I really respect the fact that Ethan comes here and joins in to address problems and shoot the sh!t with his end line users. Were really quite lucky to have that.

How can I forget da supah ultra mod Bladite ;).Thanks bro for all the hard work you do here to keep things organized and running smoothly. We are all quite lucky to have such a great guy and fellow Becker head like yourself here as a moderator.:thumbup: Tons of respect.;)

So am I a Becker fanboy?...You can bet your a$$ I am! :D

Edited to add: No I haven't been drinking, dawsonbobs post was just inspiring.;)

Cool! You should love it; it's not quite like any other knife out there. Once you get it in your hand, you'll understand why so many of us love the BK-2.

Looking forward to the pics!

I don't think it's weird at all that you would have a Becker on your desk to pick up and hold: doesn't everyone?:D

I like what you've said, and, yep, you're a fanboy: congratulations.

I will also say that the BK7 is one of my all time favorite knives, too many good things to say to do it justice... Although that didn't stop my from modifying mine, but that's my own particular sickness... I think it's time to reward mine with a new sheath.

I need to pick up some Kabars, mine are all Camillus thus far.
