I want to change the handles on one of my Busses. What drill bit do i use?

The rivets have an O.D. of .25".
 
1/4 inch is the size, but I'd think you'd want a step or two down so you only get the fastener.

wait for Ban, he'll tell you for sure
 
I think Ban actually drills with a bit that's oversized and drives the remaining rivet pieces out with a hammer.

If you try it, be careful, Just a buyer made some fillet-o-hand when he was drilling a handle.

Also, if you do it wrong you can end up with a rivet that just spins around melting the G-10, Micarta or Resiprene-C.

Maybe ill let Horton do it, my old bones dont heal like they used too..........

To make it even safer wrap the blade so it won`t mark then clamp it in your vice ,take 1/4" drill in a battery drill and drill untill the countersunk part falls off then tap out what is left with a pin punch.

I have some Elk horn laying around i think i want to use. Should look nice.

I have been trying to get Horton to help me make some micarta but apparently his nose is sensitive and he refuses.
