Messed up some thumbstuds on a knife while sharpening. They are perfectly functional but they give me a good excuse to tinker around with the knife.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Where would I get aftermarket thumbstuds?

You fail to mention what brand of knife it is.If it's a kershaw they will send you a new one.

Knifekits.com has one of the largest selections of thumbstuds.

Smokey Mountain Knife works also has some in different sizes that attached with
a set screw. I've used a couple and they work fine.

Have you contacted Benchmade about sending you a new thumbstud, since, they send out pocket clips at no charge.Even if they charged you,I don't think there wouldn't be a substantial difference in the price of the Knifekits one and Benchmade's and you would have an original thumbstud.

I've never done it, so I'm wondering... do you use loctite when you screw in the thumbstuds?

Can you remove double sided studs and install a single stud that will show a flush fit with the blade on the back side?

Thanks.

Benchmade won't send you a thumbstud, I just tried to get one. They said to send the knife in.
