Alright, let’s see those users

Ever Cut Biltong?
I know you folks from South Africa have...
It's a South African Jerky-Type Recipe for giving fresh game meat some longevity for the trail...
That's Also Some Super Tuff Material.
Which means...
It's an Edge Tester, Naturally! 🔪
Heh, Heh...
(Any Excuse, I Mean, Reason, to Test an Edge, is A Good Day... 🕺)

Here's My Tiger-Claw Chopper, inspired by an Inuit Nesmuk Design that I've used to Clear Trees off the Park Gates back in Nor-Cal near Tahoe Area... 🔪
I made this one out of A2 Tool Steel for Blade & Tang, & the Handle I hand-shaped out of Canvas Micarta + OD Green Paracord D-Guard...
Tiger-Striped with my not-so-patented process, but it's still holding in there after 15+ years.
No Hot Spots while Chopping. 🤠

{ Occasion of the Creation:
I had just missed the Busse Nesmuk Deal -- they run for 2 weeks for each of their "New Productions" -- So I was called & told, "No, You can't have one, Climber..."
So, All sniffles at the dejection & rejection aside, I made a Better One.
Convex-Edged, with Plenty of Weight for Power in the Swing, all in a 6" Blade Length, 12" Total Package. Even have a Logo on the Ricasso to be seen. Oh, with an under-the-armpit Kydex Carry. 🤺
No sour grapes here! Only B'Cuz I had been told No, This Little Beastie Sprang into being...! 💪 }

Used? Oh Yeah, You can see more than just the Kydex scrapes...

Wrapped the handle in Leather, then Cord-Wrapped on top with an oriental-weave pattern for a Perfect Man-Sized Grip...
Which means, Boye's Brass-lined nylon sheath would never do anymore, Right?
Soo, the need for a Fitted Sheath produced this.
This is my 2nd Sheath I've made for this Sharp 4-incher...
Sharp Eyes will notice the Wire-Breaker I put in with a carbide rod saw near the pommel end...
After decades, this Still gets Razor Sharp!
I think the TEB is around 5/1000ths! (Thickness at Edge Bevel)
David Knows how to grind a Blade for an Edge!

It has certainly drawn MY Blood on more than a singular occasion.

How do you like the Kershaw camp knife? I bought mine as an impulse buy some time back lol.
I like it quite a lot. I don't have any other big choppers to compare it to (well, aside from a hatchet and an axe), but at the time I bought it, it seemed a good value/utility proposition, and it still seems so. I originally bought it to bust up firewood, and it was plenty big for that. Nowadays, I use it to delimb fallen, broken, or sawn branches, and occasionally to lop and chop the same.

Enough pretty pictures! Let's see some WEAR on those knives! Let's see which knives have stood the test of time and earned their place on your belt or in your pocket.

I want to see some DIRTY KNIVES that have EARNED their ranks! Let's see those battle scars. Chipped handles, patina, stains, scratches, the whole shooting match.

Knives are meant to be used!!! Time to showcase those that have lived their lives and proven themselves true.
Speaking of pictures, where's yours?

I'm embarrassed to say this, but I don't have any. All of my knives I treat like safe queens. When I use them, I immediately clean and polish them.
Hey listen, no need to be embarrassed. It's much the same way as most of us. Me personally, the several users in my giant collection all look more or less good to go with maybe a small ding or two. Cleaning your tools means they don't look beat up too much, plus unless you're using a coated blade that scratches up easily, it'd be hard to tell. I've used one of my knives on probably miles of cardboard at this point and you can't really tell because the stonewash on the blade hides the use very well.

I have one or two knives that might pass muster for this thread, I'll have to snap a pic of 'em when I get home. The rest though? Pretty pristine looking. As a member of the Laptop Class (TM) and someone who doesn't camp as much as he used to, I just don't have any cutting tasks that really abuse a knife in that way.

Wait! I found a VERY old knife in my desk drawer that meets the criteria!
