Here's the first steps of a custom knife made according (at least I'm trying ) to a previous customer's ideas.
He wanted "a knife can be made similar to your 'Rope & Cable drop point' but with chain", with the chain pattern carried to the handle.
He sent me some pics of his ideas for the handle and shape of the knife and we arranged a san mai damascus blade with the links of the chain showing on the sides and an epoxyed handle over chain, to prevent dirt to get inside the links and to provide a warmer grip.

Already welded and took to first shape.

Partially ground blade (this only side is ground so far)
If I continued the swedge it would loose most of the chain factor, so we arranged to leave it that way.
