Analysis of New Steel Bohler M398

Alright well I appreciate the information, I'll make sure to let Bohler know that their are rogue blade smiths here and on youtube ruining "der deutsche große stahl".
You may call Bohler. Ask for Dmitry Shneider. He speaks English, German, Russian. He will explain you about M390.
Or you can see him at IWA show.
Unfortunately, most of American " knife makers" don't attend IWA and are ignorant about European steels.

Sadly enough...
I was naive to believe that this site is for people who like to learn, educate themselves, or even accept new things.

Wow...

Post 3 in the link. It tells you just what I said. It is insane to forge it.
I joined the discussion to have a good time.

Everyone is so upset if somebody has a different opinion. You don't know? Learn. Educate yourself.

M390 cannot be hammered or forged if you want to maintain a structure of powder steel.

It is a sin to do so. Call Bohler or any other bigger Bohler steel user.

It is too easy. There is no need to be so arrogant and attack people because they said something what you don't know.

It looks like you are a Gold Member of this site.

What does that mean? Everyone has to agree with you?

Really? There are more sites and more books available than you saw or red already.
Hopefully some day with hard work and determination I will be as educated as you.

Where is the point of this site? Your membership? Your debates?

To learn . Right?

P.S. I click your post Like. You don't. It means you are upset and feel uneasy. This is the difference between us. I look straight in your face and click Like. You have to look down...

God made us different. For a reason.

Wow!
What a friendly people...

I don’t think thy are trying to be unfriendly. Around here Larrin is considered our expert. He is a metallurgist and has contributed countless hours to helping educate other knife makers here on the site. He has never asked for anything in return. So some respect is to be expected when talking about steels and there property’s.

I don't know any of you. I registered yesterday.
In other words... expert.
Good to know. If I will have a question, I will ask him for an advise.
Meanwhile... I don't think this site is for me or any user who knows something about knife industry.

Here are enough knowledge and experts.

I really appreciate your kind words. Thank you.
You are actually the first one who has something positive to say in here.

I was asked to find out some interesting American forum to refer... I registered. Joined a discussion. Against the "knowledge" of an expert. Sarcasm? No. It is just a reality. Just confirming what was said.

For sure it is not a Knife /Blade forum that I will recommend people to join.

Way too many emotional opinions, lack of knowledge about powder steel (just 1 topic that I was able to discuss), and isolation from the rest of the world.

There are over 7 billion people in this world. Over 320 million the US population. It sounds like the rest of world knife makers, steel producers don't count. Only few are the most knowledgeable on this site. Wow...

Well... thank you once again. I hope to see you somewhere at the knife shows.
Stay safe, stay motivated, and enjoy your knives.
I will enjoy mine.

Thank you.

Wonderful.
I am PhD too. Not a metallurgy doctor. Still... PhD.

Title doesn't entitle people to be abusive, arrogant, or rude.

I joined this site yesterday. Friend of mine owns a knife company overseas. He wanted me to recommend him some US blade forums.

I tried this one. Wow!!!!
It was a quiet an experience! Ha ha "experts" didn't like that there could be more than they know.

It is OK. I will write an article based on my experience from joining 1 conversation about M390.

Thank you for heads up. Stay safe and I wish you to have wonderful weekend (upcoming).

P.S. Bohler Uddeholm has information on their website. In English. There is no need for PhD to copy that and post online.
Once again, thank you for heads up.
