A recent thrift shop find is this antique Brazilian Cavalry Trooper's saber.
The only issue i can find with it is a small dent in it's steel scabbard, for the rest the saber looks to be unused.
The blade is still covered in grease, and shows no sharpening attempts or dings.

Specs:

Overall length: 38.19 inch (97,0 cm)
Blade length: 32.09 inch (81,5 cm)
Max. blade thickness (ricasso): 7,46 mm
Guard material: steel
Handle material: solid brass panels on full tang
Scabbard material: steel
Weight saber+ scabbard: 1,8 kilograms
Weight saber only: 1,3 kilograms
Maker: Alexander Coppel

Impressive find!! My local store might have a stainless "katana" but probably not even that.

Visiting thrift shops has grown a bit into a separate hobby :)
Mostly i'm on the lookout for classical CD's in good condition from Deutsche Grammophon etc, but also quality kitchen knives.
Two days before i found this saber i even scored a Rotel RCD950 CD-player in full working order (but without the remote) for only 10 Euro, and it's playing while i type this.
