Thank you for Primble-izing MY knife Roberto! Is that in todays mail?:D

Thank you for the comments on the old NYKC Barlow guys. I had wanted a nice one for a long time. The bone handles were an original dull black over mahogany when I got it. Some very careful rubbing slowly revealed the beauty of the bone. Some guys would have left it as found, but, not me. I was extremely careful, however, and nearly wore down my thumb nail, which covered each pin, ;) as I rubbed out the bone. :o:)

That piece is just exquisite...pure excellence...epic!! Can you provide me with a map to the rabbit hole?:D Did Alice hand it to your personally?

I thought about it...that must be the legend to the map on the bolster;)

Nice example of a New York Barlow, Rob.
I invite you to post your recent nice Barlow acquisitions in the "What Makes a Good Traditional Barlow" thread!

That was hilarious Gevo - you are smarter that the average bear, err I mean rabbit, to figure out that bolster/map deal so quickly !:eek::D:D

Alice said to tell you "hello". :D

Much appreciated Charlie and will do.:)

Another addition to the fine old NYK being shown here. Congress whittler early stamp.

Primble that Barlow is sweet and your pictures as always are great!! Barry :D I love those knives you have as always!! Here are 2 more of mine, not sure if I posted the scimitar here before.

Wow, that scimitar is amazing! I have never seen anything like it before or even knew something like that was ever made. The curved long pull is another first for me. I'm betting this was not an inexpensive knife in it's day.

The congress is simply as nice a rendition of the pattern as I have seen.

Thank you Mike and those are two fine examples. The scimitar type knife is very unique!:)

I wonder if the makers visited the beach on the prior weekend? :D

Could have alternatively been called a WAVE knife, based on the look of it.

Is the tobacco congress blade etched or stamped - hard to tell from the picture?
