Try sharpening each "tooth" separately. Start at the back and pull the blade toward you watching the contact with the stone. Just like sharpening a plain edge except you move the blade over the stone small portions at a time. For single beveled edges sometimes there is a bur hooked over the non beveled side. To fix this simply lay that side down on a flat stone and drag it away from you, like when stropping. One pass is usually enough but I always double check with my thumbnail to be sure.
