Been looking at the Kabar Ek models 50 and 51 this week and I’m curious if anybody has used them. Leaning more towards the 50 and it would just be a nice little belt knife for out camping and hiking. Thoughts?

Those look very practical for your purpose. You might also consider Cold Steel's SRK compact.

I picked them both up earlier in the year, but haven't had a chance to get out in the woods with them yet.
The drop point looks like it needs a set of kephart scales.

I have the EK51 Drop Point and like it very much. There is just so much right about that knife; drop point profile, full flat grind, about 50% blade 50% handle, comfortable hand filling handle, secure sheath. It is a similar size to a Condor Kephart, Esee PR4, Terävä Jääkäripuukko 110, Benchmade 200 Puukko, etc. It works well with an EDC folder (like a Victorinox Farmer X) and a chopper (like a Hults Bruk Almike) for a contemporary Nessmuk trio.
