Applegate-Fairbairn Covert or Combat Folder?

Heck, they were bound to get one right eventually! ;)

How bout the BMF? I've had mine for 7+ years with plenty of hard use and it's still holding up great.

I have used a single edged covert for the past 5 years and the only problem I have ever had was the pivot screw comming loose. I put bowstring wax on the threads and that solved the problem. Once that is done, I think the covert is just about as good a knife as you can get for under $100.

I own both of these, and have never had any problems with the lock on the Combat. The sheath of the Combat is nice, carried horizontally. With that said, I prefer the Covert. It's just smaller, and it does the same job as the bigger one for me.

I Always Wanted One Im Glad I Didnt Pay 100.+ For One Thanks For Letting Me Know About The Lock.if Any Of You Have One You Dont Want Put It On E-bay And They Will Bid The Price Up Really High I Was Watching Them On And Trying Get One But Was Always Outbid .thanks Alot

Covert takes the top spot!
Combat as a secondary choice.

However, the Combat does have it's good points.
Notably:-
- It has a longer blade reach
- It has a better balanced feel in the hand
- It has an integral back hand "skull crusher" to crack open wallnuts
- It has basically a very appealing design.
So what's there to hate? Except a questionable locking device?
