Wolfmann, the point doesn't seem to be getting across. Tell me what's broken. Tell me what I'm "ignoring." Tell me whose butt needs to be kicked.

Or is there a problem any more? Last night I spent a few minutes looking for a problem on this forum -- I found a post by Gary Swenson that he had edited after posting so maybe that was a troll -- from the responses it looks like it might have been. Is that the problem you're complaining about? Is there some other problem? Read carefully:

If you tell me about a problem I'll deal with it. If not one person is willing to take a minute to tell me about a problem, I assume there isn't any problem.

It doesn't have to be a moderator who emails me a link to the thread where the problem is; anybody can do it.

If you click the "report this post" button that sends an email to the forum moderators -- not to me unless it's in a forum that has no moderators.

Posting a reply to a troll saying the moderators should do something accomplishes nothing. If a moderator ever reads the thread (probably because somebody smarter than you sent him a tip) he'll see the troll and deal with it before he comes to your reply.
 
Mick, are you logged in when you get that error message? If so there's a problem with the software; we can fix that. If you can't stay logged in there's a problem with your cookies or your browser setup; we can help you fix that too.

Spark gets buried in email every day -- email the super moderators or post in the Back End. If it's something that needs to be dealt with immediately do both -- post in the Back End and email all of the super moderators. Put us in your address book so you can send to all of us with one click. That's what we're here for -- any time of the day or night; we don't mind.
 
I have absolutely no emails from you, Mick. My email address is readily available.

I've received no phone calls from you. I have several phone numbers that I can be reached at, not to mention the home phone number I have provided both you and Duane more than once.

I have private messages, none of which are from you of late.

If you are experiencing any sort of problem, and need something handled, then you need to reach out and contact us. I am more than willing to help you, however I am not psychic. I cannot read your mind. If comms fail, use a backup - there are tons of them available.

I've provided this forum for you for two years. I've footed all the bills, handled all of the technical issues, and until now, I have had no indication that you had any problems with any moderator tasks.

Don't make excuses for your behavior. I'm extremely busy as well, but when I had a problem with your company, I found time to call you guys every day for almost 2 months straight. When you didn't respond to emails, or private messages, I tried alternate methods.

Don't shift responsibility. Calling me a ********er and throwing my site under the bus is not a classy way of doing things. Stabbing me in the back after my squaring you away for the last few years is especially low, Mick.

Anytime you need help, you can rest assured that I will help you to the best of my ability, but I have 2 businesses to run and if you don't make the effort to let me know you are having problems, then I might not be aware of them.

Hey, I am just voicing my opinion. If it makes no sense to you simply disregard it. If I am wrong then accept my apology. But I have seen BFC in a far better place than I see it now and I do not see it getting better.

Spark and the boys have done a great job at keeping this place running for as long as it has. I understand that Spark picks up a lot of the bills but the paying members help out there. I also understand that Mick has a busy day and cannot afford to lose that time because he is on the computer trying to e-mail everyone on this board. If what both of you are saying is true then you guys have a problem that should be settled outside of this forum.

I know that I’ve personal reported 5 posts to you Spark. Did you get them? That may be were the problem lies. Lets stop jumping to conclusions and let’s definitely drop the name-calling.

I enjoy this browsing this message board and I try to do so several times a week but if this doesn’t get worked out none of us will be talking Strider here. I personally don’t mind that but I know quite a few of you do. It’s also good for both of your business’s boys.
 
I am telling you that I have received zero emails or private messages from you within the past week, Mick. I have received several PM's from others within that time, so I know it's working. Unless you are sending emails with titles like "Sample Viagra", "Consolidate your Debts" and "Email millions!", which I doubt.

If you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone for fastest response.

With regards to paying for the site, though the paying memberships help, they do not offset the costs of running this site. We don't even break even - or close to it. Make no mistake, I'm not rolling in greenbacks from running this place - I do it as a service to the industry.

This little dust-up was pretty much over by the time I found out about it. I think most guys read the forums at night (possibly over lunch) while I contribute during the daylight hours.

Like many here, I dropped by on Monday morning and the words were already flying. Over matters such as these, I plead for cooler heads, and I always have. (Oh, once I lost my temper with the Strider troll, and I felt bad I got sucked in.)

But lets define some terms here. I'm a middle-aged guy who likes to collect jackknives and I have a disposable income. I don't have to be here at BFC, I choose to be. To that end, I buy Strider products and will continue to do so in the future.

However, I took umbrage at the title of 'sycophant.' Is it so wrong to defend a guy who helps you and provides decent service? I don't buy all of the knives in the Strider line; as I am not a mercenary or being shipped off into harm's way, I don't have the need for the larger fixed blade series.

You have a problem with me and my patronage, tell me about it or ban me. To insult me when my back was turned ticks me off, and I'll remember that the next time I pull out my wallet.
 
Ichabod, when Mick Strider calls my site a **** hole and me a cock sucker, I take much more umbrage. When he asks for people to line up and agree that this site sucks, I take umbrage. When he questions my sexuality, and has people line up blaming me for problems that aren't of my making, then I take umbrage.

So, you'll have to pardon me if I label those who behave as such as sycophants. If that hurts, then examine if your behavior warrants that label. If not, then maybe it wasn't directed at you, so don't take offense.

Fair enough, I may not be one of the individuals you were aiming at. But I still think that heated remarks need to be taken with a grain of salt. For example, if Danelle told me to sit on a 2x4, I'd question her to see if I hurt her feelings. If Wolfmann601 told me the same thing, I'd assume he was just saying 'hello.'

(Further, I've seen dear friends in the heat of anger lash out at everyone and everything. My guess is that Mick isn't the 'tea and crumpets' kind of guy.)

I think this deal hurt everyone. But I'm still a bit out of joint thinking that my choice of cutlery determines my status here. My AR and SnG are great knives, and Mick answers my questions. Given that, would you say I'm a good candidate to buy another one?

Oh, BTW, I'm a big boy, I'll get over it. Just so you know for the future, I'm bipolar, OCD and I have GED. My correct title is "psycho-fant."
 
As a small attempt at getting solutions on the table:

Would it be possible for the Strider Guys to appoint a couple of BFC members as Moderators? This may go along way to keeping the peace and remove some of the day to day admin crap that Strider Guys deal with. Just a thought.

On a side note, I also would not of heard of Strider Knives if it were not for BFC.

Allow me to vent one more time. Spark, what is it with this forum that so much gets by that nobody else could do? There have been shameless dealer promos here that have been allowed. There are personal attacks that would belong in w/c and would earn a ban anywhere else.

Now you are going to bend over backwords for somebody who uses this forum and calls you a cock sucker and all sorts of other "nice" comments? Geez, who else could do that? If I had trouble posting, could I call you all that crap and pitch a fit and still get to stay? Would you just tell me to call you and would Cougar tell me to please contact him with any questions?

Maybe there is something wrong with this forum...most people better fly right, a few can do pretty much whatever and the most they get is offers for more help.
