Sorry, but not all of us are willing to just roll over and let those opposed to our freedoms have their way. If gun owners had taken that same attitude years ago, then we'd not made the progress we have protecting our Second Amendment gun rights. The proof that it doesn't have to happen is right there. Now, Knife Rights fighting for our knives, just like the NRA, SAF and others have fought for gun rights. Instead of just bemoaning your presumed fate, giving up to the darkness, perhaps you should support an organization that is making progress turning back the darkness. I doubt we will win every battle, but we will win the war if everyone stands with us and we continue to fight the good fight.
I am a paying member of both Knife Rights, and the NRA thank you very much.
I never said anything about "rolling over" or not fighting back. But in case you didn't realize, in a lot of cases of banning knives and guns throughout history, the governing party did not ask the people or allow us to vote on it, they just banned. I while I fully support Knife Rights and the NRA, and have the utmost respect for them. I still acknowledge IMO they are fighting a losing battle in the long run. When the government begins calling certain tools and objects "weapons" it is amazingly easy to convince the ignorant masses that those said tools are not good for public safety, and there are soooo many more of them than "US". Knife Rights and the NRA are not fighting the Government, the people(us) are the government they are fighting against ignorance which is a very long and ugly battle, that is often lost. Once the "sheeple" are convinced to fear an object it is so easy to remove that object from the public.
Sadly, this is the reality we live in. We live in a age, now more than ever IMO, where the public wants to "FEEL" "SAFE" and "SECURE", and will criminalize anybody and ban anything to obtain that feeling of safety and security no matter how false and shallow it might be. It is easier for most people to ignorantly believe in the evil of an inanimate object vs. the evil in the human soul. The first one is controllable, and that is what humans seek. I think the great, and awesome folks in Knife Rights and the NRA realize this, but they do and SHOULD always continue to fight against it.
Whenever in history, has it mattered at all, that something "didn't have to happen that way". Yes, there is "proof" that the attack on the 2nd Amendment "doesn't have to happen", it is still happening though, isn't it, (even though proof that something doesn't HAVE TO happen is kind of an oxymoron). At the end of the day the Constitution, as wonderful and close to perfect a document it might be, it is just that...(dramatic pause)a document, ink on paper, an inanimate object. The Constitution is not a supernatural being, it does not have special powers to stop evil and corruption. It is a tool for "the people" to keep alive and use in the fight against evil and corruption. IMO "the people" dropped that ball a long time ago, and a few have been fumbling in the dark ever since to get some sense of it back.
Bear with me here, I'll get of my box of soap and set it ablaze it soon, I promise...
Now, if you could explain anything in my previous post that was UNTRUE, not unjust, not unlikely, not unchangeable, UNTRUE - not in accordance with fact or reality. On a final note, sometimes "giving up to the darkness" is the best way to truly know the enemy you are faced with...(silence, dramtic fade out)
Ok I'm done, box of soap on fire, breaking all fingers to spare you from any further ranting
