Just hung my first axe today (a lot of inspiration came from this thread). No name 3.5 lb head, stained the handle just to see how it looked, its really uneven but this is going to be a user not a wall hanger, and I kinda like how it turned out. (Dogs were very interested in it lol)

Love the stone hawks. By all accounts, those were supposed to be devastating close combat weapons in their day and one might argue that the traditional metal hawks may have been a step down in that department.

Hi everyone - First post on this forum. Have decided to pay more attention to axes and hatchets, posting some older shots, but will be back with new ones in the future. BTW, just ordered myself a Winkler Camp Axe, anyone having eksperience with one of those?

Looks like the stamp was ground off in the third image. Way too far out to be mushrooming. It's just my personal preference but I prefer heads to be seated lower as well, yours will function fine though.

Estate find. The owner was still using this axe before he died. Anyone know what the touch mark is?

Carving axe in action. Making a kuksa from a seasoned birch burl, hard work, that's a piece of granite.

Found the head in a box that I had packed up 6+ years when I was looking to sell my house and move... sadly I cant remember, no clue who the American maker is, but at least it is finally mounted..!
