I have the same tomahawk head a friend gave me made a couple of wooden handles but I keep breaking them out now I'm working on a fiberglass with a 1/2 inch tubing core handle but I'm not really sure if I'm going to like it

Seems to me this would work better with a much longer handle...

you know as to keep the axe on the chain away from the body, also leverage.

Don’t know how to post pics here but I just picked up a Winkler Combat Axe with the sculpted maple handle and it’s a work or art, simply amazing!!

New hobby since about the start of the year. Super fun. Still learning. Got real lucky with a few heads. Some I bought for $5 and others I paid $40 for. I’m amazed at how little is required to get going. I’m paying retail for new handles.

I’m using an ultrasonic cleaner from HarborFreight, white vinegar, brass wire wheel, hand-files, rasps, box-cutter blades, drywall-backed paper, and a tiny soldering torch. Finishing with BLO and wax.

Not the best pic but the loppers and Velvicut Boys Axe were perfect for getting this small oak outta my view on this steep slope.
