Baby Banter G-10 issue

Bought my son a Burgundy Baby Banter and the Burgandy color shows on the blade in a powdery form. Wipes it off clean and some is back on later. Comes from the inside of the scales. It has not been exposed to any liquids. Any ideas? Not looking to return it. Surely it will all be gone soon.
