Awesome project, you two. Mark's grinds are obscene and luscious.

Thanks Matt! I believe that pic was after eating a Carolina Reaper.
On another note, my Instagram is
Scrimgeour_knives. Pretty sure the baddogknives acct. was made during a wretched nite of drinking with Nathan. Can’t say for sure though.

When I'm designing a knife for someone else, I have to be really in tune with where they are at. They need to have a style of their own that I can base my work from, and in Mark's case he has a distinctive look to his knives and that right there is an important ingredient for success. Otherwise, it's just my design- it's important to me for my work to look like the person I'm working for came up with it.

Here is the evolution of the sketches for this knife from the very first to the last. Each time I get it to a point where I'm feeling good about it, I send the sketch to Mark for critique and then make adjustments in order to tailor the knife to him. There's lots of fiddling around, and more erasing than drawing usually.

the final sketch is the one I'll work from to make a model. The basic contouring is sketched on, although it's highly conceptual- there's no way to be 100% positive it will work until it becomes a 3 dimensional object.

So, now that you've seen where this is going, I have to tell you that we're kind of stumped on what to call it. Mark suggested asking you guys what to name it, so..........what do you think? Should we just call it George and be done with it, or do you have something more interesting in mind? Mark will give a free smile to whoever's moniker is used.
