Bark River Sheath

[CUTS LIKE A KRIS]

How difficult is it to reform a Bark River Sheath. My Mini Canadian won't set well in the sheath and it is the only thing keeping me from carrying it. Is it as simple as casing it again and reforming or does the fact that it is already finished maki it more difficult.

I've done it before..just get it good and wet under hot running water...inside and out......til the leather gets soft and pliable...insert knife, work it around with your hands to mold the leather to the knife......take the knife out after the leather starts to dry a little, then leave the sheath alone till it is good and dry...then use a finish.

I don't think you need to get it that wet. Wrap the knife in cellophane before inserting it - or you will come out with a rusty blade.

I would say damp rather than good and wet.

CUTS......you may find this recent discussion useful, and maybe get with the author....he had the same situation, and looks like he got good results....
