Basic Series Blades coated/uncoated

I've been seeing a lot of pics on ebay and the forums lately of the basic series. Now i kow there are 4 members in the series. The question I have is about the blade finish. Some of the pics have a satin finish and some have a black coated finish. Which one came first or were they both always available, and just for my own curiosity why was it switched? The only knife that I don't have picture with both finishes is the basic #3, that I have only seen with the black finish, was it done in a satin at any point? Thanks

From my limited Busse experience, and having owned few Basics, the smooth black finish pre-dated the current (last edition) crinkle black finish.
