Belt questions?

I have made a few kit knives and a couple of ugly knives with a file...I have a 2x72 on the way.
What should I order in the way of belts?
Are some better than others?
How many different grits do I need?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Give James Polin a call at 706-678-5408. He now carries Carbo Schroeder a/o belts that I've been using for 5-6 years now and have found nothing that I like better.

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!
I currently don't have a web site but am working on one.
Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms!!!

I agree with Michael's recommendation to call Pop. He will make belt recommendations if you tell him what you plan to do.

I agree, James is very knowledgable. He is also honest.
He charges actual shipping charges. Most places I buy from make part of their profit over inflating the shipping charges.

I would reccomend checking out TRUGRIT ABRASIVES at http://www.trugrit.com/ They also have a wide selection of belts that will meet virtually any application. They are very nice folks to do business with also.
