Benchmade Presidio II thoughts?

I agree I prefer a stainless. My only gripe was the shitty sharpening job.... I mean it’s SHARP but ugly LOL. Outside of that it works well

That's unfortunate. Mine was perfect. I'm enjoying this brute! Gotta switch back to the 940 starting tomorrow though (office/khakis).

It's funny that my last post is above. Around this time last year I had a Presidio II and ended up selling it for something else. A year later I missed the knife so much I bought it again.

Yes, it’s chunky, but if you want what is probably the toughest Benchmade folder made, this is it. And the action (at least one mine) is extremely nice. Feel is, of course, subjective, but it feels great in my big hands.

Years ago, I had a 520SBK. I sold it because I just don’t dig or particularly need serrations, and, like we tend to do, flipped it to pursue other knives that struck my fancy at that moment. Sellers remorse, yadda, yadda, yadda. Then it got all discontinued. Other knives came along, but over time I wanted another 520.

Fast forward to earlier this year, and I ended up buying a 570, hoping it was close enough to the 520 to fill the void. For me, it is not. I still have it, and do really like it. Its definitely, without a doubt, a durable, biggish tank of a knife with great action. I found myself still longing for the slightly smaller profile and overall feel of the earlier Pardue design. Thanks to this site, I recently found a killer deal on a 5000 auto in great shape, so, as of just a couple days ago, I’m back in the 520 saddle again.

I’ll keep the 570 as well, or not. We knife guys can be fickle. Lol

I’ve owned my 5500 since 2006 and my 5700 since last year. They’re both awesome knives and I’ll never let either of them go. I went with the auto versions because, why not?

I bought the 570-01 Presidio II about six months ago. It has the CF elite handle material as opposed to the older aluminum model. I really like the feel in hand of the CF elite material plus this version is one ounce lighter than the aluminum scaled 570.
Ergonomics are good for me w/ wide scales that help with grip and mine deploys fast and smooth after a break in period. Great heavy duty blade!

I know this is an old thread, but I'll throw in my opinion for anyone considering this knife...

I have the CF Elite version and I really like it a lot. It is pretty much right at the large size limit of what I like to EDC. I love the look and shape of the handle and blade and the CF Elite scales are light, grippy, and don't look or feel cheap in my opinion.

It's one of my favorite Benchmades. I'll probably also pick up the mini version at some point.

Since my 2018 post here (lol), I sold THAT 570.... then missed it again... and bought another one. When the 570-1 CF Elite version came out, I got one to see the weight difference. Kept the CF Elite and sold the (second) aluminum one because I liked the lighter weigh so much.

While I carry the 570-1 a lot in the off duty rotation, the trusty old 5000 Auto still rides in my pocket everyday for work.
