Best time of the Year to Buy Knives

What times of year are the best to buy knives? Are there big sales for Fourth of July?

Are they vendor specific or manufacturer specific? It seems like the prices are pretty much the same for everyone. I like to buy from Bladehq, because I like their youtube videos and their website is easy to work with.

Best sales are probably "Black Friday"
Many manufacturers have MAP, so prices will be fairly consistent dealer to dealer.

The best thing is to constantly look at your sources. They may have a sale next Monday that isn't there today. As well as inventory changes. Or may offer free shipping or have a giveaway of some sort.

I dont know, holidays I guess. I have never seen much of a difference, especially with everyone using MAP pricing nowadays (I hate that! ). I usually just see where they give you some free stuff like playing cards or whatnot.

This is why I'm on the email list of many dealers. You never know. But there are usually deals to be found around big holidays and the big shows like Blade and Shot.

Having purchased "many" knives over the last ten yrs or so, I am convinced that the knives on this forum's Exchange represent the best deal around. Most of my purchases are in "as new" condition and usually are 30% less than knife-shops.

The big online dealers have some good deals Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The whole cyber thing is like a whole week now.

It's horrible because its true but the best time to buy any men's hobby/sporting items is usually the holidays- not because of black Friday but because that's when the most guys are getting divorced and need the cash. Can't ride the bike,too cold, sold. Can't fish,too cold, sold. She's cleaning the poor guy out- sold,sold,sold.

I disagree. The best day to buy was 3 days before that (unless you shop bhq, then 6).

The best time is when you need this tool for the cutting tasks you are involved with. Collectors can buy anytime, not any particular time when buying is best for collectors. Black Friday may be a good time for collectors but I'm not sure.
