Best Travel Spoon/Spork/Utensil/etc

For me, that's about perfect.

I use the plastic version of that light my fire. Which is good and cheap if you lose it or have to toss it.

I have also been using this one quite a bit for about 8 years now and it's still good as new.

I think it's going to boil down to what is most comfortable--some people don't like the feel of the fork or spoon portion in their hand on the dual sided one.

Heat hasn't damaged my plastic ones but I guess they conceivably could?

I have the plastic version of the LMF spoo-ork-ife and use it almost daily. I did find that the knife edge was near useless and was just plain annoying when I used the fork. I ended up dremmeling it off.

I have the LMF titanium spork - it's not bad, but I wish they hadn't bothered with their abomination of an attempt at serrations.

I don't like the way the "multitool" utensils work. A spoon should be a spoon, a fork should be a fork, and well... a knife, you know... Here are my two favorite utensil sets.

The blue plastics are GSI Tekk Cutlery, you can get them for about 2.50 a set and they are awesome. Not being metal your spoon won't heat up and burn your lips. I am disapointed though I had a prior set of these from about 2 years ago (until the fork broke, I think someone manhandled it while doing the dishes for me) The newer sets are actually about 1/2" smaller it seems that both the handle and usable ends have been reduced.

The aluminums are from Sea To Summit, I think they were ultralights or something and were like 20 or 25 bucks a set. Size wise, these things rock and they are light as all get out. I got these in a panic when I thought that GSI ceased producing their super awesome el-cheapo's. Very pleased with them and may let them replace the GSI's the size of these is just perfect for good eating.

I love my utensils. I EDC them and have found them to be perhaps the most frequently used tool in my EDC.

God bless,
Adam

Another titanium LMF user. Agree with erik, the serrations are pretty worthless on the ti version. They make some sense on the plastic version because it is considerably thicker.

I have toyed with the idea of grinding down serrations on the fork side, but I'm going to wait until I decide to drop the coin on a second ti one before getting wild with the tools.

I have the plastic version and it's a nice utensil. I'd save the money on the titanium and just get the plastic version, it weighs about as much as a feather.

I have a couple of titanium sporks that someone got me as a christmas gift. I like them because they have a rather long handle, great for digging the last big out of mountain house packets.

Biggest problem I've found with some of the new gotta have utensils is they're not long enough if you like MRE'S

I have two of the Snow Peak Titanium Sporks. I do most of my eating with them, when I'm not using chopsticks. I also picked up a titanium knife, fork, and spoon set but haven't used it much. Nice picnic set, though.

Way back when, I used to carry a set of Lexan utensils, They really work well, clean up nicely, are lightweight and unobtrusive. I used them for lunch in my office.

Personally I am using a set of those blue GSI's as well and I'm kinda happy with them. The knife really cuts well for what it is  The only downside on them is their heat resistance... I caught myself scraping some egg with them from the hot pan and had the spoon melted a bit on the edges. No real problem towards its funtion or look but for those tasks you should use something else ;)

Despite that they are super light-weight and cheap in case you loose 'em BUT they are relatively short! Compact on one hand but limited on uses like eating MRE's right out of the pouch on the other hand. I repack those MRE's most of the time to get my favorites together and leave the original spoon at home, so the tiny blue one kinda lacks of a long enough handle. So I guess I will have a Spork in my set soon, maybe a TI version

I received the Snowpeak Ti spork and chopsticks as a gift and I must say they are pretty cool. Everyone loves the sticks. :)
