Blank altoids tins - where to buy?

Sand it a little bit and hit it with some high-speed, uber-tactical Krylon olive-colored spray paint. All the operators will be jealous of your tin.

OTOH

Let a random Joe on the street see you carrying an Altoids tin, and he will assume very little. Whip out a tin that is any other color (or bright and bare) and he/she will keep an eye on you and formulate opinions (is that a bomb? are you some sort of freak?). Just a thought...

haven't really thought about it that way but it's another valid point. it's easier to hide things in plain sight. i just like using an altoids tin to avoid all kinds of questions from the sheeple. someone asked me once and i tried explaining the real contents and i just got the eye roll. now, i say "i like altoids instead of gum, etc." and that pretty much ends the conversation.

;)

I find that I do not even get questions with an Altoids tin...anything else and people ask. I find the questions to be similar in nature to the dreaded, "how much was that knife?"...in that it seems honest answers too often lead to the eyes rolling (like you mention).

I also get a new tin once in a while when the old one starts to look worn.

Well the local CVS pharmacy had Altoids on sale today. The normal size and "smalls." The smalls are just that, smaller tins a little smaller than half the size. Well now my stomach hurts from eating too many mints.....

yeah, i have the "smalls" too but aside from fatwood shavings it's a pretty useless container. i use mine to store habanero flakes though. when my mouth isn't burning and i'm not crying in pain, well it's not hot enough :D

Check out something other than Altoids. A lot of those confections and mints are coming in tin cans now. I remember there were some kind of chocolates that came in a tin that seemed a bit roomier than Altoids, and a flat top. Can't remember the name of it though.

Sorry, I was busy at work all day and unable to read. I could reply to 15 people or just say... thanks for all the information. :D
You guys saved me a lot of time and hassle with the knowledge you provided me.

I like countycomm.com, I hadnt seen that site before, looks like a place to spend a bunch of money.

Oh my.

95% of the world is in condition white. Face buried in their Blackberry, oblivious to the world around them. I don’t think having a plain tin in his kit or pocket is going to threaten his OPSEC.

people would just assume you had "curiously strong" fresh breath... unless you provide proof to the contrary.

Buy the regular tin and hit it with some black or camo spray paint, or even flourescent orange. I don't think the zombies will care if they see the word Altoids.
