Anyone here recommend a Bluetooth gps antenna? My goal is to be able to connect a WiFi iPad to it so I can use downloaded charts and maps for navigation on the boat and out on BLM and Forest service land. I can already use my phone because it has the gps antenna, but I just want a larger screen. All the iPads I have lying around are WiFi only and I don’t feel like buying a new one with cellular capability just to get the antenna.

iPod Touch and non-cellular iPads lack a GPS receiver chip. Not my problem, but Bad Elf GPS for Lightning Connector is the most recommended receiver online. Costs about $100 if you shop around.

It's more accurate than Apples's GPS chip if that matters.

Hopefully someone with expertise will chime in.

Thanks, I’ll have to give that one a look. My only issue would be Not being able tO charge it when the bad elf is inserted.

The Bad Elf GPS for Lightning has a micro USB port so you can charge your iPad while using the GPS, and it comes with a 3' cable. To quote their promotional blurb:
Built-in micro-USB port allows for pass through charging while in use.
