BM Griptilian scales custom

Got Mine yesterday, thanks Igor! Brown canvas, and the tolerances are definitely a great improvement over the factory grip…or at least the feel in hand isn’t as cheap! The brown canvas has a tendency to absorb some oil, so I went ahead and rubbed it lightly to make it look uniform and like the appearance even more! Also, I stripped out both of the body screws removing them (amateur hour, I know) so that’s what you’re looking at. The clip is an 810 Contego clip from Benchmade.

I received my brown canvas scales and black standoffs today. My griptilian has a black blade and I have a black deep carry clip from benchmade. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. Assembly with the new scales was very quick other than the pivot screw. It took a bit of finesse and a few taps on the back of the screwdriver. I will post pics tomorrow but everything looks and fits fantastic.

Full size grip with Brown Canvas scales, black standoffs and a benchmade deep carry clip. Very happy with how it turned out!

Hey Igor,
I already own a set of your awesome scales. Can I still get the regular curly birch with danish oil?

Received my scales from Igor today, a mere 16 days after sent. I couldn't be happier: green canvass micarta, stone washed clip and standoffs. I am impressed with how it quiets down the opening and closing of the knife. Adds nice balance. Makes for a really classy knife.

Highly recommended!

Anybody know how items are shipped from Russia to the US? I have a set of scales I'm anxiously awaiting that show "Export of International Mail" on the RussiaPost tracking site, and have shown that since the 11th. USPS pulls up a note with my tracking number about how they've been notified of a pending shipment, and that's it. If it's coming on a boat, I can see a five day delay. If it came on a plane (seems most likely for such a small item), then I'm not sure where the scales are at right now. Perhaps Customs? Any ideas from those who've bought from Igor before? I'm super excited to get these and the wait is killing me, hahaha!

Longest I had to wait was right before Christmas where it prolly sat in customs so that was almost a month wait. The last time I ordered it was little over two weeks. No real communication from when its in Russia until your package is somewhere in US (NY last couple of times for me). Hope that helps you out.

That does help some, yes. I figured if it had reached customs that the tracking may indicate that, but I'm sure their tracking is like ours. Once it leaves Russia, there's no way to track it until the receiving postal service has it. So my guess is, as long as it's in customs somewhere, there will be no status change for the package.

Come on, Customs, I got a nice 550BK to put my sweet Igor scales on!!! :D
