Bob Dozier Knives?

Ebbtide,
You need to stop taunting me with that fillet knife!

You mean like this?

Excellent knives. AG Russell frequently has a couple for sale.

If you live in the SE, a trip to the Blade Show in Atlanta in late May/Early June is worth it and you can handle more than a couple of his blades there. The good part is they are all for sale at normal prices. I have been buying one per year the last few years. Check the show dates. Go early if possible.

Ditto on what the others have said. I have also found, besides the excellent edge retention, that Dozier knives have some of the best fit and finish of any knives I've ever owned.

Dozier had a huge selection at the A.G. Russell knife event last year, and I expect to see them again this year. If I pick up a fixed at the show, it will be one of theirs.

It is because Bob Dozier is a friggen' living legend as far as knifemakers go! Dozier has been there and done it!

I worked for Bob for 3+ years and have nothing but respect for the guy and how he builds knives. I can say that I never saw a corner cut, the ENTIRE time I was there!

Dozier knives are work horses that you can depend on!

Your knives aren't too shabby either Tom (meaning excellent)! I carry one of your Micro Chefs in D2 as my FB EDC. Great knife!

I'd say Bob had a great student. ;) I've got a few Doziers and they are excellent knives!

i meet bob in the nyc show , i had a km4 and is top knoch, i loved his nessie folders , you can't go wrong.

This is a major confirmation for sure ;)

Hey Ebbtide, how are you liking that New York Special? I really like the design but I'm not too sure about the false edge. The other one I'm eyeballing is either the K-28 Personal or the K6 Companion.

Here's my only Dozier...

carrot, I like my Arkansas Toothpick, which is a similar blade to the NY Special. The false edge is no kind of problem for me. But the one that gets the most use is my Canoe, hanging over the kitchen counter in its neck sheath. My standard kitchen utility, the best Dozier I own.

The Dozier shop does great work. You can pick up a knife in a standard configuration from a dealer now or place an order through the shop to get something a but more personal. Either way you will get a heck of a knife.

That's a really impressive knife you show there. What are the scales?

The pic of the KS3 in red provided by the OP is also very alluring, is it a standard model from dealers or is it a waiting-job? Thanks, W

Many consider Dozier D2 to be one of the best D2s available with a couple other noteworthy D2 heat treaters in contention

I consider Dozier D2 as best steel available for now.

In my edge retention tests Dozier D2 takes first place keeping every other far behind. So to me this is best steel.

Also it is least noisy manufacturer - did not hear all this screems and crys by fan boys as you may see for others, who are far behind. So he focus on real quality in the shop not "market development".

Also he provides as part of the package best cydex sheath I ever see, he has solid model line and his prices are very good.

I am highly recommend his knives!

This is my review of K30:

Thanks, Vassili.

P.S. Let me add some pictures:

I've found the PGK and the Straight Personal is a combo that works very well together.
My new Crotts will get the nod as my fillet knife!

I should just get rid of everything else!
