I just held a Boker Titanium Zeta at my local Bass Pro Shops.

The tip was dull. Thinking maybe it was damaged being the display model, I asked to see on out of the box. Low and behold the tip on it was dull as well.

Is there any reason why?

Also, what is the blade material like? Edge Holding? Durable? Rust resisitant? Can I sharpen it?

The tip is designed to be somewhat blunt. So what you see
is not damaged, but intentional. It is done that way as a
safety measure due to the material. It is not a piercing
or thrusting type of knife, but made for cutting and slicing.
Plus, it lets us keep more material near the tip, increasing strength.
The material is more durable than ceramic, but not as strong as steel.
It is still more brittle than steel, therefore easier to break.
The strongest point to the material, IMO, is that you get about the same cutting ability as ceramic in a material you can sharpen yourself.
If you use an extra fine diamond sharpener, like the DMT green set,
you can sharpen at home.
HTH,thanks,
Terry
