The old McEvoy books are always good. The Viper Story by Harald Moeller is a good one if you can find one. It is out of print.
I have yet to see a good video that I would recommend. There are some cheezy ones out there. You best bet is to find a good Knife Thrower in your area and get some good hands on instruction. There will be plenty of good instruction at the AKTA National Championships in South Carolina on Oct 13-14 200. Click on my site below and check out the news and updates page.

Much appreciated Knifeslinger. I browsed through your site and I would like to go to check out AKTA 2000, but I'm all the way up in Canada so that's sorta impossible. I see that you offer throwing knives as well on your website, what would you recommend for a beginner? What are your thoughts on cold steel's torpedo? Thanks.

My number 9 and 13 are great for the beginner. I recommend a set of three to start.
The large 1 inch Torpedo is too heavy to throw, but the 3/4 inch model throws easy like a knife. They both will chew up targets.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, I just blew my cash on a TOPS Hawk Recon, but when I come up on some extra dough I'll probably pick up 2 #13's and 3/4 inch torpedo.
