Hey bladers. I had given a few knives and for the life of me I can't find out what the hallmarks on this knife are. I know its an old knife, military issue most likely from William Rodgers Sheffield but I can't find out any more than that and Im curious The hallmarks Ive been right through silver plated mark sites thinking its Nickel but no joy. Can any of you sharp ones shed a little light please. Nice one. J
Sorry, I don't recognize the halmarks or knife. I will say that is an interesting or unusual blade lock.
Sorry fellers, I'm a bit preoccupied at the moment, but if photos of the knife and the marks can be posted, I'll try to help
Hi Jack. I managed to get the pictures working and posted them in to the original post. If you can take a look I'll be stoked.
The locking mechanism works really well, its spot on internally. The safety lock on on the front end of the spine is really neat too. Super condition, but lost for any more information. Thank you guys for your help so far.
What I mean is that all I see is a picture of a folding knife and not a bowie, is that the knife or did you upload the wrong pictures ?
Ive tried another picture upload site. If these fail, which site do you guys use please? upload <a href="https://imggmi.com" target="_blank"><img src="https://cdn1.imggmi.com/uploads/2019/8/22/6487e724107d168b1077f66417fc211e-full.jpg" border="0"/></a> upload <a href="https://imggmi.com" target="_blank"><img src="https://cdn1.imggmi.com/uploads/2019/8/22/8226cf656d58d64e9e77ec9eae2b4ed1-full.jpg" border="0"/></a> upload <a href="https://imggmi.com" target="_blank"><img src="https://cdn1.imggmi.com/uploads/2019/8/22/c5d07d6f90cd0d7b14875158c92839e5-full.jpg" border="0"/></a>
Tortuous process! I can see a couple of pics by clicking on the links now. Certainly not a Bowie, and those aren't hallmarks. I'll have to explain later I'm afraid, it's 7.30am here. I'll post again later
I'm still out and about, but will write something up later. It would help if you could take more photos. I would be particularly interested to see the knife from above looking into the blade well (the side the blade closes into. If you can take other, in focus, photos, so much the better. I would recommend using Imgur to host them, and post the BB code here
