Branding On Blades

I like traditionally applied/placed manufacturer information. I love traditional rollmarks on guns/knives - but don't prefer laser etching. (I understand about the separate subject of compromised strength with rollmarks, etc.) I deepen the etching on any new laser-etched Beckers I buy.

However, if I like a knife enough/(or don't have a choice re: options), I'll still buy it regardless of any prominent branding/billboarding... (I should stress however, that large branding/billboarding is "not" my preference...) When given a choice, I'll always opt for less/traditional.

When it comes to Beckers, I'll also strip and force patina them - so in the end, I don't expect the branding/billboarding to be as visible when I'm finished with them anyway:

Brand name only on users. Collectables can have whatever because I wouldn't use them and mess up the billboard.

I like it when they put the name of the designer on the knife and I love the designer identity runes that Spyderco uses, but there are some knives that get a bit carried away...
