Buck 110 25th anniversary 1993 issue steel?

Thanks alot, Dave.

Great to have, this picture from the catalog. :)

Math.

You're welcome. I think this one will be clearer. The first was a screenshot from a downloaded scan. This is a new, direct scan from my hardcopy of the 1993 catalog.

Thank you, this is a much better picture.

I took a look and made a crop. It seems the knife on the picture has a 1986 (< ) stamp.
This would mean they made this commemorative editions in 1986 already ? So prior to the commemerative year of 1988 ?

Any ideas how this can be explained ?

BTW:

This 110NK is starting to grow on me. I EDC both the other 110's from the first picture of the thread. This one however has a much sturdier feel. It has been used but the blade was never sharpened before I got it. It feels so much stronger than the Ecolite or the 560. :)

They probably just had some leftover 86 blades to use up.....that happens sometimes.

Maybe some of the first ones were made with those.

Catalog pics have to be done months early and are sometimes used for years thereafter.

I have no idea, but I looked at the 1987 catalog digital version and it appears to have the exact same picture. My hard copies only go back through 1989 so I can't scan one myself. The 1986 catalog makes no mention of them and no picture.

Theres no definative answer on that one. Speculation is a bushing change in the pivot to prevent flip opening. There have been other items stated that it could be. But... We encounter many odd stamps which are not known the reason for. Some we do know. DM
