Buck 703 ?

I was looking at some Buck 703's on ebay and noticed that on most of the photo's I see of the knife the nail nick on the large blade is more towards the tip of the blade. Like it is on my 701.

Then I found one that comes in a blister pack that shows the nail nick more in the center of the large blade.

I like it towards the tip myself.

Do all the 700 series come with the nail nick in two differant styles?

Judging from the packaging in the photos, the one with the nail nick towards tip is an older year model. I think we switched to the nail notch in center around '97. although it could have been changed earlier than that (around 93). It would be helpful to see the date codes on the 2 models, and I can't tell by the pics.
