Recently, I read that someone complained and others agreed with him that if a knife is kept in its sheath for too long, rust sets in.

So on impulse when I went home that day was to pull out my Buck 120 from the sheath. Verdict: No rust. How strange, I thought.

That knife must have been there for at least five years. Of course, occasionally I take it out. But after such a long duration when no rust is visible, I am puzzled. Why?

Now that is one special Buck sheath.

I've got a 120 that comes in to daylight once a year to be wiped and oiled. Have had it for 20 years now. Guess its the good quqlity steel.
