Buying from bladehq and knifecenter what do you suggest

I'd stay away from Blade HQ. I like Knife Center. I bought a Benchmade Crooked river from Blade HQ. Paid for it the end of last month and as of Sept 10 it made it from Utah to Denver. I wrote to complain about the shipping to Blade HQ and they told me my problem is with the USPS and I should contact them. Before I retired I ran a business and if I told a customer who didn't receive my shipment it was their problem I would've quickly lost a customer. Which is exactly what Blade HQ did and lost me as a customer. I still haven't gotten the knife.

Great, thanks everybody for your help. I was worried that they don't accept PayPal and was gonna ask what you thought about that but I see nobody has had any problems except for a shipping issue.

Thanks again,

BO-DACIOUS

Hi Steve. We're bummed that happened. If you shoot me an email, I'll look into your order personally and see if we can make it right for you: marketing@bladehq.com. Cheers! -Ben

Completely off topic BladeHQ, but SSL is secure, but just as a "now you know" type of tip, if one of your customers starts off their purchase through a HTTP, and indirect infiltration of your transaction is completely feasible and if the person trying to steal info is half way knowledgeable in the subject, not even unlikely. Moral of the story being, always start out in HTTPS! Haha but as for buying from BladeHQ and Knifecenter, I've never, ever had a problem with either. BladeHQ tends to be a bit quicker and has a better CS team, but both are still great! Best of luck!

I've spent a lot at BHQ and definitely recommend them, however there is one thing that bugs me about them: they can be slow to ship. I've had orders placed the night before for in stock items that didn't ship until the day after the next business day, i.e. order Monday night and not ship until Wednesday.

If anyone reads this from BHQ, please take it as constructive criticism and an area to improve on...rest assured you will still continue to receive a healthy chunk of my disposable income!

Highly recommend Knifeworks, Roger is a well known good guy and they get some cool exclusives.

Knife center...not so much ...

Kershawguy...let's not go there ...

Both companies, BladeHQ and Knifecenter, are excellent. Sometimes unavoidable stuff happens and both will do their best on the very rare occasion that an issue arises.

I have bought from both of these dealers when I have a need for a knife for myself or friends that I cannot get myself directly.

Knifecenter offers the same knives and more in stock at a lower price. It's best to call to verify your information and tell them exactly what you want. Both are good but with any high end purchase with any dealer it's best to call.

Sometimes I wonder if there isn't something with their local USPS mail sort and processing, because for some reason packages coming from there take longer than from other places and often don't update any tracking info until after they've arrived at my house.

Buy from BladeHQ great CS. I have had them hand pick knives for me. Friendly people and pleasant to deal with during process. I've also heard good things about Knifecenter.
Do you know someone there?

I'm about to buy a couple BMs from BladeHQ; a big expenditure for me. If they could check first and send me knives with low/no blade play... I would pay extra for that service!!

Is this something I can request as just some regular internet buyer?

I avoid knife center like the plague. They have sold me some jenky knives and they also openly sell and advertise Quartermaster and made in USA Texas when they are clearly made in China.

Just give them a call brother. Anyone who answers will be able to help you out.
Good luck!
Joe

I bought mainly from bladehq and knifeworks, which are both great. Bought just once from knifecenter and it was a Spyderco K2, which got a sticky lock like hell. Not the fault of kc and I returned it and got full refund with no problem whatsoever.

$30 fee on the first wire transfer purchase (Knifecenter)!...Come on...

Where do you buy things that doesn't have a transfer fee for wire transfer payments, which is a payment type that almost no one uses for commercial transactions like this?

I've purchased from all the major dealers. I've had good service from all of them, although I do think BladeHQ must be on the ass end of the USPS chain, because shipping transit time from them is always longer than from anywhere else in the country. But it is what it is. Really no preference between BladeHQ, KnifeCenter, and GPKnives, the extra wait for BladeHQ isn't a deal breaker. I usually pick based on availability and sometimes price for the companies that don't enforce MAP.
