I just received a new Camillus USMC marine combat knife and the way the pommel is attached leaves me thinkng it's going to come off with the first wack.

The tang hole in the pommel is 1/16" deep where it should fit flush.

The thickness from the outside edge of the pommel to the pin is 1/16". If you can visualize this, the pin cannot possible holding the pommel in place.

I emailed Camilllus a photo along with a desrciption and my concern asking if the knife is safe to use.

Does anyone have a similar condition on their USMC knife?

I think if it wasn't for this pommel assembly defect , my inital impression was that I like this version better than my Kabars.

Thanks for your help,
